DENICE ROTHMAN HINDEN, PH.D., FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT
For 25 years, Denice has worked in and with socially responsible organizations in a wide variety of areas, including project creation and implementation; curriculum development and facilitation; market analysis and survey facilitation. She is a qualified administrator of the Organization Team Culture Indicator (OTCI).

Prior to founding Managance Consulting, Denice served as Program Director at the Development Training Institute (DTI), Baltimore, Maryland. There she was responsible for designing and implementing Project IMPACT (Improving Management Performance and Capacity Through Training and Technical Assistance), an unprecedented organizational capacity building program with Indianapolis community development corporations (CDCs). She also served as director and faculty member of DTI’s Greater Philadelphia Leadership Academy, a program for senior staff and emerging leaders of CDCs. There, Denice designed the curriculum and convened DTI’s first quality assurance/evaluation planning initiative.

She has also served as Executive Vice President of The Thurston Consulting Group, a Miami firm specializing in nonprofit organization development and evaluation research. In the early part of her career Denice was Assistant Director of Miami Bridge Youth and Family Services where she coordinated development and construction of a 24-bed emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youth, and assisted in managing a $3 million capital campaign. Her career in community development and program evaluation began in 1980 as an intern at the Urban League of Harrisburg, where she conducted surveys of resident needs in public housing.

Denice frequently volunteers her time. Currently she is serving on the Alliance for Nonprofit Management’s McAdam’s Book Award Committee recognizing excellence in nonprofit management literature. She is co-facilitating the Alliance Book Club, and participating on the 2006 Alliance Conference Design Committee. She has also served as a peer reviewer for the Maryland Association of Nonprofits Standards of Excellence. Denice has a M.S. in Human Services from Nova Southeastern University and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Florida International University. She is fluent in Spanish.
