Diagnosing and Using Organizational Culture
Organizational culture is commonly defined as “the way we do things around here,” the symbols, rituals and unspoken, intangible, but understood energy or spirit at work in an organization. When we think about examples of high performing organizations, a common characteristic is a shared feeling that naturally draws in people to work effectively together. When the culture and people in it are out of sync we often feel there isn’t a good fit. At Managance Consulting we can help you explore your organizational culture and learn to use it more intentionally in your strategic direction, your day–to–day operations, in your brand, or in defining your organization’s unique value for your customers. Our President, Denice Rothman Hinden heads up or organizational culture assessment practice. She is a qualified administrator of the Organizational Team Culture Indicator (OTCI), a new diagnostic tool for understanding organizational culture.
Strengthening Groups and Teams
If you work in an organization you’ve had these or similar experiences. You want to keep trying new things but your co–worker is demanding the decision now, or you want to see more hard data before you make a decision and your co–worker just knows this or that decision is the way to go. The differences in your approaches are tied to personality preferences. At Managance Consulting we can help you understand these differences and use them for the benefit of the group instead of letting them get in the way of your success. We often begin with The Myers–Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) to help you get to know each member of the group better. This instrument measures personality preference on four scales; Extraversion – Introversion (E – I), Sensing – Intuition (S – N), Thinking – Feeling (T – F), and Judgment – Perception (J – P). Once you have taken the MBTI® you can begin to better understand your individual preferences, and group preferences, and you can use these preferences to strengthen working relationships. Lead Consultant, Catrese Brown is our certified administrator for the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator.
